ContentReturn to Top ↑
The day begins with a theoretical explanation of yin and yang problems with the joints, TCM and Qi gong treatment methods for joint and musculo-skeletal problems and how the dit da jow chinese herbal medicine formula works.
Herb samples and practical explanation for the preparation and use of the dit da jow chinese herbal medicine formula for the treatment of bone, joint and musculo-skeletal problems and sports injuries will be taught. How to use the herbs for both internal and external treatments will also be explained.
In 1989 the World Health Organization Of The United Nations published a book listing 150 of the most commonly used herbs in Chinese medicine.
The book says:
"China has a long history of herbal medicine and has developed a unique system for using it. The herbs safety and efficiency have been established by means of modern tests in a scientific frame work."
Admission RequirementsReturn to Top ↑
This course is for health professionals and practitioners who are interested in how to use Chinese Herbal Medicine for musculoskeletal ailments, sports injury and traumatic injury, bruises and sore muscles, to stop pain, reduce swelling and inflammation and disperse blood stagnation to assist them in their practice. It would be relevant for acupuncturists, osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractic practitioners as well as sports massage and other types of body workers.
This course would be excellent training for people who have done our Spinal and Orthopaedic Acupuncture courses or our Acupressure course. It would complement these systems, the herbs could be applied as a balm after the treatment to the affected area. Or the patient could drink them as a herbal tea or as a medicinal wine to heal them from the inside.
Martial artists who get bruising and bone fractures in their training would also benefit from this course. There is a specialized aspect of martial arts training called Iron Palm and another aspect called Iron Body. These training methods use a formula called Dit da jow which I am teaching on this course.
Applicants need Anatomy & Physiology.
